When often talking about Wii U, even from the company (in recent), you rarely here about this unsung aspect about the Wii U Chat. Likely it suffers from no one managing to line things out (although I recommend BFing on ACNL for making it easier), line things out, so that there is little clash in schedules.
I finally dawned on my memory, I shy on speaking a word of french and my knowledge of it sucks for talking, a little less in type, although never get the formality right. Languages have their interesting quirks, like with German it’s making lovely sounds out of nasty words, or french and personal inflection or formality. Spanish and having a different slang for every colonial location.
But anyway my Friend in France just got a Wii U and, aside from a wonderful time on Splatoon, I thought, hey check this out for the first time.
This native application is incredibly brilliant and clear, and fast. I have seen Skype and a lot of VOIP, screen capture. None were as ingenious as this, or as unique, in the game console market.
So if you want to chatter with friends, family and gamers from a distance and play games and use Netflix or Youtube on the side (Hulu in USA only), or Crunchy rolll. A Wii U trumps almost anything, PSN has the party chat on preference to it, but the social atmosphere gets weakened on eventual tribal nastiness anyway.
So really this may be an overlooked and an additional point to the system, shamefully they never found a way for people to sample this in most places. Being 1 on 1 an interactive Nintendo Direct at a mall may be difficult.
If anything goes wrong, it may be the internet.
