In a time of discord and disconnect of family, a time from when a kid could sneak propane tanks by their parents in Columbine and not have a parent bat an eye. In a time where fathers are forced out or just not involved, mothers aren’t teaching right and wrong enough. Where people live at work, and the next generation becomes an after thought, and state schools are brain washing children. One company stands out.
Weather a platform like Steam or Epic, or a machine like Xbox and Sony Playstation, they are pretty well sold as systems that are not about parental involvement.
A lot of Sony and XBox advertising is about what you can get materially. You see a Nintendo ad, and they are promoting at least the idea that a parent knows what their kids are playing and even spends some of that time with them.
I came up with my “Not A Baby Sitter” rating. Nintendo promotes the concept of “Not A Baby Sitter” in their advertising. It isn’t the concept of anti-social dark corners and lonely kids having only fandoms to reach to, which is where they likely go wrong, when the only family is a fandom group as with any collective fanaticism.
If one company can’t be blamed for a run down of the family, bad parents, and mass shootings it’s all of them, but if anyone is above and beyond making this point, it’s Nintendo.
